Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your enrolment, participation, and use of services provided by Starmaster Space Education Centre ("Centre", "we", "us", or "our"). By enrolling in a space education course at our Centre, you ("Student", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Binding Agreement
By completing your enrolment and payment for any course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and any future modifications.
1.2 Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued participation in any course constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Enrolment and Eligibility
2.1 Enrolment Process
- Enrolment in our courses is conducted through our online portal or in-person at our Centre.
- You must complete all required enrolment forms and provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
- Enrolment is subject to availability and may require meeting specific course prerequisites.
2.2 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian if under 18.
- All enrolments and subsequent course participation are subject to Centre policies and any specific course requirements.
3. Course Fees and Payment
3.1 Fee Structure
- Course fees are outlined in our course catalogue and/or enrolment confirmation.
- All fees are payable in Australian Dollars (AUD).
3.2 Payment Methods
- We accept payments via credit card, direct debit, and other methods as specified on our enrolment platform.
- Payment is required in full at the time of enrolment unless alternative arrangements are made in writing by the Centre.
3.3 Payment Security
All payment transactions are processed through secure payment gateways compliant with applicable data protection and privacy laws.
4. Refund Policy
4.1 General Refund Terms
- Refunds will be issued in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and Centre-specific policies.
- Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing via email or through our designated refund process within seven calendar days of payment.
4.2 Refund Eligibility and Conditions
Cancellation by Student:
- Students may request a refund if they cancel their enrolment within seven calendar days of payment and prior to the commencement of the course.
- A cancellation fee of 10% may apply.
Cancellation by Centre:
- In the event of course cancellation by the Centre for reasons such as low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be provided or an alternative course will be offered at no additional cost.
Partial Attendance:
- For courses that have commenced, no refunds shall be provided.
4.3 Process and Timeline
- Refund requests will be processed within 30 days from the date of receipt of your written request.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Re-Enrolment and Course Changes
5.1 Re-Enrolment
- Students who wish to re-enrol in a course they have previously attended, or in a subsequent session of the same course, must reapply through our standard enrolment process.
- Any credits or fees paid for previous sessions will not automatically transfer to future sessions unless expressly stated by the Centre.
5.2 Course Modifications
The Centre reserves the right to alter course content, schedules, or instructors as necessary, noting that Starmaster's education programs and specific courses are predominantly designed to have practical changes in subject matter to reflect real-time industry inventions, discoveries, innovations or update content to ensure any applicable latest scientific developments that are of educational in nature are, where possible, and appropriately licenced from the content owners, are included or replaced within a course at appropriate intervals within a calendar year, usually one to two updates a year.
In cases where modifications significantly alter the nature of the course, and materially affects the course objectives from those previously advertised, students are advised to check the update course topics or profile, and at the discretion of Starmaster, any affected students will be notified in advance and provided with options including re-enrolment or refund if within the refundable period.
6. Compliance with Australian Law
6.1 Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia.
- Students have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees relating to services and consumer remedies.
6.2 Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services provided will be resolved in accordance with Australian law, or in accordance with the Victorian State Law, noting federal law generally supersedes State Law.
- The parties agree to first attempt to resolve disputes through informal negotiation. Failing this, disputes will be submitted to mediation or, if necessary, to the appropriate courts in Australia.
7. Privacy and Personal Information
7.1 Privacy Policy
- The collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Australian Privacy Principles.
- By enrolling, you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Liability and Indemnity
8.1 Limitation of Liability
The Centre will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses or damages arising from your participation in our courses, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8.2 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Starmaster Space Education Centre, its employees, and agents from any claims or damages arising from your breach of these Terms or your negligent or wrongful conduct in connection with the courses.
9. Miscellaneous
9.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
9.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any documents expressly referred to herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Centre concerning your enrolment and participation in the courses.
